It's getting close to the end of term and Governors have been enjoying some of the celebrations. A fantastic year six 'Junk to Punk' show. A carol service with music, dance, humour, thought and praise, which refused to be quenched by the appalling weather.
And for those who could, there was a three-school gathering of staff and governors to share, celebrate and support each other.
Each represented so much work and were a testament to all involved.
Thank you from the Governors and Merry Christmas.

Today at St Mark's,  governors and staff from 3 schools came together to discuss and share planning for each subject in the new curriculum. It was a very useful meeting, very productive and we hope to repeat it in the future.
For some of us this was followed by the Resources committee meeting where we checked the school finances against the budget; heard about future spending plans (Visualisers); compared our spending against other similar schools (benchmarking); and talked about renewing the Year 4 toilets. And there was pizza!

Last week, two governors went to training on the new disability access scheme, which is planned to replace Special Needs funding from September 2014. It is a completely new system and not all the details have been worked out yet. We came away with a lot of information but even more questions.
